How it works
On a typical US Etsy sale you pay three fees: the $0.20 listing fee, the 6.5% transaction fee on the item price plus shipping, and 3% + $0.25 payment processing on the order total including sales tax. Offsite Ads are only charged when a sale came from one of Etsy's ads.
Etsy explains how these combine in its "How to Calculate Order Earnings" article. This calculator follows the same order and then subtracts your own product, packaging and shipping costs.

Frequently asked questions
How much does Etsy take per sale?
For a US seller: $0.20 listing fee, 6.5% transaction fee on the item price plus shipping, and 3% + $0.25 payment processing. On a $35 item with $5 shipping that is $4.25 in fees ($0.20 + $2.60 + $1.45, no sales tax) before Offsite Ads.
Does Etsy charge fees on shipping?
Yes. The 6.5% transaction fee applies to shipping and gift wrapping, and payment processing applies to the full order total.
When do I pay the Offsite Ads fee?
Only when a buyer clicks an Etsy offsite ad and buys within the attribution window. Switch the Offsite Ads fee on for those orders.
How do I calculate Etsy profit margin?
Net profit is the order total minus all Etsy fees, product cost, packaging and shipping. Margin is net profit divided by the order revenue. The calculator shows both.
